Game Description

You’ve heard of endless runners, but have you heard of endless platformers? Me neither, that’s why we made Industry Ball.

Industry Ball is a free-to-play hyper-casual arcade game for iOS and Android. The game is a first of its kind “endless platformer” which mixes fast and entertaining collectathon gameplay with a dash of puzzle elements. Every stage is randomized and the player’s goal is simply to see how far they can get. Similar to the endless and score-based gameplay of the likes of industry classics such as: Flappy Bird and even Doodle Jump. Our game uses a tried and tested game model with a fresh coat of wildness and originality for a mobile space hurting for fresh content.

With equal parts nostalgic arcade action and simple yet chaotic platforming gameplay, Industry Ball has taken inspiration from the best of the best procedural indie games. Make your way through an onslaught of stages with our finely tuned algorithms. As the player improves, so do the stages. Occasionally, boss stages are unleashed upon the player. These events are called “anomalies” which cause randomized destructive effects to the stage. From literal planets crashing into the stage, to platforms that sink into the floor at breakneck speed – you never know what type of event you’ll encounter. 

Players can collect power ups to assist (and occasionally deter) them from their high score. WIth classics such as “double jump” and “magnet”, to original concepts such as “gravity reversal” and “wrecking ball”, we offer a handful of wild powerups and we plan to add more! Combine powerups and stack their effects to create absolute mayhem until the end of your run. Most games limit one power up at a time, whereas with Industry Ball, you can effectively combine as many as you want for your desired needs. Want to upgrade your ball to the size of a massive wrecking ball with the utility of double jumping? You got it.  

Users collect in-game shards which translate into our game’s currency. Purchase “ball forms” with your collected shards and customize your experience. The “forms” aren’t just skins, they are full fledged different characters. Think of how vehicle to vehicle in racing games have different stats like weight and handling, our ball forms allow for fun customization not only in appearance, but in functionality as well. With each form equipped with differentiating weight, handling, speed, acceleration, jump ability, and luck variables, users can unlock and collect forms and eventually find their perfect option that suits their unique playstyle.

Quick History

Industry Ball was developed as a side project during college and after years of hiatus, later eventually became a full time dream project of a few developers. Founded on the idea that mobile games tend to exploit the user and occasionally offer unfair pay-to-win systems, Industry Ball was our attempt to dent the hyper-casual niche market of the mobile games space with a completely original and close-to-home game experience. We contract all aspects other than design with a team of talented artists, musicians and developers from the Toronto area. With a little help from EDGE at Sheridan, an incubation community, we were equipped with research and confidence to fulfil our goals and immediate achievement.

About Game Dream

Game Dream is a startup consisting of a team of talented contractors from across Canada. We exclusively make free-to-play arcade games for Android and iOS. A branch of our business consists of game design consulting where we help you make design and business decisions of your dream project. Game Dream is founded and curated by lead designer, Adam Roberts.

Game Dream allows for the contents of Industry Ball to be published through video broadcasting services for any commercial or non-commercial purposes. Monetization of videos created containing assets from Industry Ball is legally & explicitly allowed by Game Dream.
